Information You Provide Directly

- Identity verification: driver's license image (processed via on-device OCR) and government-issued ID.
- Payment information: billing address and payment method details (processed by our payment partners; we do not store full card numbers).
- Vehicle listings: car details, photos, pricing, availability, and location (Hosts only).
- Communications: messages sent through the in-app chat, and any correspondence with our support team.
- Reviews and ratings: content you submit about other users or vehicles.
Information Collected Automatically
- Device information: device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, and app version.
- Usage data: pages visited, features used, search queries, and interaction timestamps.
- Location data: with your permission, we collect precise GPS location to help you find cars nearby and to auto-fill pickup coordinates when listing a vehicle.
- Advertising identifier (IDFA/GAID): with your explicit consent via the App Tracking Transparency prompt (iOS) or Android equivalent, we may collect your advertising identifier to measure ad performance.
- Crash and performance data: error logs and crash reports collected via Firebase Crashlytics to improve app stability.
Information from Third Parties
- Analytics data from Firebase Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand how users interact with the Platform.
- Ad performance data from TikTok Events SDK, used only if you have granted tracking consent.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your account and verify your identity.
- Process bookings, payments, and payouts.
- Enable communication between Renters and Hosts via in-app chat.
- Send booking confirmations, trip reminders, and important service notifications via push notifications and email.
- Display relevant car listings based on your location and search history.
- Improve and personalize your experience on the Platform.
- Detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms and Conditions.
- Measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns (only with your consent).
- Analyze app performance and fix bugs through crash and analytics data.
3. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following circumstances:
- Between users: when you make a booking, your name and contact information are shared with the Host, and the Host's profile and contact information are shared with you.
- Service providers: we share data with trusted third-party vendors who help us operate the Platform, including payment processors, cloud infrastructure providers, analytics services (Firebase, Microsoft Clarity), and push notification services.
- Advertising partners: only with your explicit tracking consent, we may share your advertising identifier with TikTok to measure ad campaign performance.
- Legal requirements: we may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government authority, or to protect the rights and safety of Ridey, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers: in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
4. Tracking and Advertising (iOS App Tracking Transparency)
On iOS devices, we request your permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework before accessing your device's advertising identifier (IDFA). This prompt appears when you first launch the app.
- If you allow tracking, your IDFA may be used to measure ad performance and show you more relevant advertisements.
- If you deny tracking, we will not access your IDFA and no cross-app tracking will occur. All app features remain fully available regardless of your choice.
You can change your tracking preference at any time in your device's Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
5. Cookies and Similar Technologies

- Correction: update or correct inaccurate information via your account settings or by contacting us.
- Deletion: request deletion of your account and associated data by using the "Close Account" feature in the app or by emailing us.
- Objection: object to certain processing of your data, such as for direct marketing.
- Portability: request your data in a structured, machine-readable format where applicable.
- Withdraw consent: where processing is based on consent (e.g., tracking), you may withdraw it at any time without affecting prior processing.

Our Platform is not intended for children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. The Platform integrates third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:
- Firebase (Google): analytics, crash reporting, push notifications, and cloud database.
- Microsoft Clarity: session recording and heatmap analytics.
- TikTok Events SDK: advertising measurement (consent-gated on iOS).
